SUNDAY COACHING (10.30 to 11.30 a.m.) at THE JOHN CLEMENTS SPORTS AND COMMUNITY CENTRE

The Club is a totally new concept in the game, probably the first of its type in England.

Rugby clubs generally take youngsters into the Junior Sections - we start before that using the advantages of recently introduced tag rugby. In non-contact tag rugby boys and girls of differing ages can play together and even families can play together.

In the first two and a half years around 50 youngsters have attended a training session with children in the 3-5 and 6-9 age groups. There is a consistent core squad of 35 players.

This is very encouraging and very much influenced by having four quality coaches, each with CRB certificates allowing them to work with children. The availability of the hall in the new Sports Centre for training is particularly helpful in the winter.

Rugby coaching is provided to youngsters at the lowest possible cost. Our subscriptions are £10 per playing member per season or £20 per family per season. This means that each of our 35 squad members can attend up to 22 coaching sessions at a cost of just under 50p a time!
