Codicote Football
Our earliest records date back to the season 1913/14 when Codicote joined the Hertfordshire County League Eastern division, after many years of varying success, Codicote then joined the North Herts League and remained there until 1993 when the present Chairman Jim Bundy and then Manager took Codicote once again back into the Herts Senior County League.
At the end of 2009 after promotion to the Herts Premier League in 2003 and winning the Herts Centenary Trophy in 2006 Jim moved upstairs and handed the reins over, with the aim to progress the side into the Spartan South Midlands League. The Club invested in two ground sharing agreements firstly 2 seasons at Hertford Town and a further 3 seasons at Gosling Sports Park enabling the Club to achieve the facilities required by Step 6 clubs whilst also achieving Football Charter Status, recognized as a kite mark within grassroots football and regarded as a statement of quality.
Subsequent Managers just failed in getting the club promoted but in 2011/12 under the management of Liam Errington and Jim Mullen the Club finally saw the team achieve promotion to their current position in the Spartan South Midlands football League. In the first season in the Spartan South Midlands League they reached the Challenge Cup Final and virtue of their League position gained entry into the Herts Charity Cup and the world famous FA Cup.
The club now has full planning permission to move back home and to upgrade the facilities to achieve Step 5 Football at Codicote.
