Donations & Legacies
Donations/Legacies to the John Clements Sports and Community Trust. Thanks to the generosity of our funders, many from Codicote, the new John Clements Centre opened in April 2015. It has started well and has been running a consistent surplus from trading and membership income.
It is managed by The John Clements Sports and Community Trust which is a charity set up for the furtherance of sport, recreation and community activities in Codicote in memory of the late John Clements. All monies raised and generated by the Trust are invested back into Centre and the above activities with the Trust having already awarded £4,000 to the clubs.
We have been asked by a number of people whether there is a vehicle for them to make additional donations to the Club or perhaps leave a legacy in their will. This would be seen as an enormous help to the Trust as it now manages a ?600,000 asset and is keen to build and maintain reserves to ensure an ongoing, high quality building and continue to award grants to local sports and community activities.
Consequently, if people would like to consider helping the charity by making Gift Aid qualifying donations (giving income tax benefits) and/or legacies (which should have inheritance tax benefits), this would be a generous and constructive way to honour one of Codicote’s sons and make a lasting contribution to a community facility that is greatly appreciated by the people of Codicote.
The Trust would either publicly acknowledge or keep anonymous such donations/legacies according to the donors’ wishes
