On 24th April NHDC Planning gave unanimous support to the new proposed John Clements Sports and Community Centre in Codicote.
Jim Park said that, coming on top of the Sport England £50,000 award under their Inspired Fund, this will give further confidence to all current funders who have pledged their support, and hopefully encourage new funders.
It will be exciting for the residents of Codicote to have this new facility enabling them to pay their final respects to John Clements.
Details of a “Buy a Brick“fund raising scheme will appear soon giving villagers the chance to leave their name on the new building.
With Parish Council support on the 29th April the first spade could be in the ground by July and the building complete end year

On 12th April 1976 John Clements was tragically killed while attempting to rescue children trapped in a hotel fire in the skiing resort of Sappada in northern Italy.
